why it matters
What every tonne diverted actually does
Recycling is not just a feel-good exercise. When materials leave the waste stream and go back into production, three things happen.
Less ends up in landfill
Malaysia's landfills are under enormous pressure. Every kilo we collect is a kilo that does not get buried — extending landfill life and reducing leachate risk for surrounding communities.
Lower carbon output
Making new products from recycled materials takes far less energy than extracting virgin resources. Recycling one tonne of mixed materials avoids roughly 0.75 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.
